10 THINGS YOU'LL KNOW IF YOU LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN

1. The nearest MAC store is miles away. As is the nearest Topshop, h&m and Zara.

2. Cocktail bars are unheard of. We have pubs. Pubs with lovely nicknames and even lovelier locals.

3. Speaking of locals, you probably have a number of "personalities" around town that everyone knows by a nickname. Frampy the trampy for example. Bless her soul.

4. You're probably very familiar with the park after dark having spent the majority of your youth there accompanied by a flagon of Strongbow. Good times.

5. 4G???? Is that even a thing?

6. When someone asks you where you're from, you tell them in terms of how many hours you are from the nearest city.

7. If you're running errands with a bed-head and no make-up then you will definitely see at least 7 people that you know.

8. Prepare for a lot of side-eye and whispering if you're rocking the latest trends. I wore my fedora (see the blog post here!) the other day and encountered a loud "what is she wearing" from some smarmy adidas wearing heifer.

9. Yes, there are plenty of fish in the sea but when you're living in a very tiny pond, dating can be a struggle.

10. You've revisited your old primary school at least once.

12. Your big-city friends have probably spoken about a big "chain" restaurant that you had no idea even existed. In my first year at university, i had to double check that slug & lettuce was in fact called, slug & lettuce.

13. The lack of popular chain restaurants in your town means the Harvester is your go-to for food, since it's pretty much the only option.

Are you unfortunate enough to live in a small town? What have i missed off the list? Leave a comment and let me know!
