
If you're anything like me, drinking the recommended 2 litres of water per day is a straight up chore; I rarely get anywhere near that amount! I'm the kind of girl that gets home at 3 or 4 pm and realises she hasnt had anything to drink all day. Oops! However I've recently started drinking Lemon & Cucumber Detox Water which not only up's my intake, but also has lots and lots of benefits too...
Lemon & Cucumber Water is one of my favourite types of detox water. It's soooo refreshing and 100 times nicer than plain tepid water from the tap. I love lemons, so i actually enjoy the taste of this and it's also really very good for you! Detox water is super easy to make (just slice the fruit, pop it in your water bottle - sparkling voss £2.29 from Asda - and leave it in the fridge overnight to diffuse!), the health benefits are amazing and it just looks so fancy and professional!

1. Clear Skin- Lemon & Cucumber water will flush out all the toxins from your body that might otherwise emerge as blemishes or spots. Also Cucumber is a natural source of silica which energises the immune system, and is key for radiant skin, hair, and nails. Drink up!
2. Boost your Immune System- The anti-oxidants and Vitamins (A, B1, B6, C & D, folate, calcium, magnesium & potassium) found in Lemons and Cucumber not only boost your energy but also double as an immune system booster. They help fight off any potential illnesses and will keep you feeling fit and healthy.
3. Can Aid Weight-loss- always a winner. Because the brain uses the exact same signals, feeling thirsty is often mistaken for feeling hungry. Drinking lemon and cucumber water can replenish your thirst and curb your appetite. The high water content and dietary fibre is also fab for digestion.
4. Potential Hangover Cure- Cucumber contain enough Sugar, B Vitamins & Electrolytes to replenish much of the essential nutrients lost during consumption of alcohol. Drink some detox water before bed to help reduce the aftermath of a heavy night out!
5. Keeps you Zen- Vitamin C is one of the first things that deplete when your body is subjected to stress. Keep your Vitamin C levels high to keep cool & collected.
6. Hydration- Like i said, i suck at drinking water but drinking detox water makes the whole 'drinking water' thing way more enjoyable. It tastes nicer, it's beneficial and since cucumbers are 95% water, it's even more hydrating than normal water anyway.
Tip! If you have left over cucumber, you can add them to your skin care routine to help clear your skin externally! The anti-inflammatory properties in Cucumber can help reduce puffiness and redness around the eyes and skin.
